In the Caribbean, IT is becoming one of the essential subjects for students to study. While few islands have an IT syllabus, many are teaching the subject at Junior Secondary because of the popularity of the subject at CXC. 17,000 students took the IT exam in 2004, a number set to increase over the next five years.
